29 CFR 1910.107(e)(9):  Whenever flammable or combustible materials were transferred from one container to another, both containers were not effectively bonded and grounded to prevent discharge sparks of static electricity:     (a) Ghent Motor Company at 2715 35th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634: On 3/20/13, whenever flammable or combustible materials were transferred from one container to another, both containers were not effectively bonded and grounded.  Solvent was transferred from the metal five gallon container of 5 Star cleaning solvent into other containers for thinning paint and cleaning, and the containers had not been bonded and grounded.  This condition exposes employees to a fire hazard.

29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1):  The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employees ability to use a respirator, before the employee is fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace:  (a) Ghent Motor Company at 2715 35th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634: On 3/20/13, the employer did not provide a medical evaluation to each employee wearing a half-mask elastomeric respirator.  Employees are required to wear half-mask elastomeric respirators during painting operations and voluntarily allowed to wear them during sanding operations.  The medical evaluation determines the employees ability to wear a respirator to ensure that wearing a respirator does not put an employee under added physical stress.
