29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Employees were exposed to amputation hazards in that machine guarding was not provided for the following equipment: a) The Hill Acme, Little Green Machine, hydraulic Metalworker, located in the "Old Shop", was not provided with guards on the four work stations including the punch press and the angle shear. b) The Verson, 14 foot, part revolution mechanical power press, located in the Fab Shop. 29 CFR 1903.19 requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: Employees were exposed to injury from a projectile hazard. The tongue guard on the 12 inch pedestal grinder, located at track #7 next to the west wall, was measured to be 3/4 inch from the abrasive wheel. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
