OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:    On or about July 15, 2013, an employee using a hand roller to remove air bubbles from a styrene and fiberglass mold was exposed to a 10- hour time weighted average of 65.2 ppm, which is 1.3 times the NIOSH recommended exposure level of 50 ppm.      AMONG OTHER METHODS, FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT MEHTODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:     1. Increase the frequency of cleaning activities to reduce employee exposure to styrene.   2. Add localized ventilation in areas where employees are working on larger molds.   3. Implement an effective respiratory protection program to ensure workers are protected from elevated styrene exposures.
