OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(I) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards from the unintended restart of a metal cutting saw:  Storage/Hardware Room:  Employees were exposed to laceration/amputation hazards while operating the JET bandsaw in the event of an unintended restart of the saw after a power outage.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent:  Storage/Warehouse Area:  In the event of an emergency, there were no signs indicating direction of travel in this area.  The door to the lobby that was part of the exit route was not marked.  The doors were not visible to employees in this area       Lobby:  There was an exit sign over the door to the first loading dock did not indicate that the direction of travel was to the right.
