29 CFR 1910.1026(d)(1): General. Each employer who has a workplace or work operation covered by this section shall determine the 8-hour TWA exposure for each employee exposed to chromium (VI). This determination shall be made in accordance with either paragraph (d)(2) or paragraph (d)(3) of this section. a) The employer failed to perform initial air monitoring on employees working within the Tool Room/Welding Department who were potentially exposed to hexavalent chromium (CRVI) while welding on stainless steel. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area and chemical-specific information was not always available through labels and material safety data sheets. a) The employer failed to provided training to employees within the Tool Room/Welding Department on the physical and health hazards of hexavalent chromium while welding on stainless steel. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
