29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1):  Circular handfed ripsaw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut:      The employer does not ensure that circular handfed ripsaws are guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely encloses the portion of the saw above the table and material being cut.     a)  This violation occurred on or about March 27, 2013, on the Delta 10 inch Tilting Arbor saw where employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when cutting plywood without a guard that enclosed the saw blade.    b)  This violation was observed on or about March 27, 2013, on the Delta Industrial Unisaw where employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when cutting wood without a self-adjusting guard on the saw blade.      Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that circular handfed ripsaws are guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely encloses the portion of the saw above the table and material being cut.

29 CFR 1910.213(c)(2):  Hand-fed circular ripsaw(s) were not furnished with a spreader to prevent material from squeezing the saw or being thrown back on the operator:      The employer does not ensure that hand-fed circular ripsaws are furnished with a spreader.     a)  This violation occurred on or about March 27, 2013, on the Delta 10 inch Tilting Arbor saw where employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when cutting plywood without a spreader.    b)  This violation was observed on or about March 27, 2013, on the Delta Industrial Unisaw where employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when cutting wood without a spreader.      Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that hand-fed circular ripsaws are furnished with a spreader.

Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that hand-fed ripsaws have non kickback fingers or dogs.

This violation was observed on or about March 27, 2013, on the northwest wall of the shop where the area in front of the breaker panel that powered wood working equipment was used for storage of wood stock.      Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that overcurrent devices are readily accessible.
