29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) On or about 3/28/2013 - 1001 Choccolocco Road, Oxford, AL, employees of subcontractor Office Insights, Inc. were exposed to an open pit with a fall distance of 9 feet, 2 inches while marking the concrete floor for seat installation. The open pit and subsequent removal of the metal wire guardrails were created by Hale Building Company, Inc.
