29 CFR 1910.23 (a) (5): Every pit and floor opening, infrequently used, shall be guarded by a floor opening cover of standard strength and construction: a) Verizon/Union Central Office/NJ site: Basement area - Metal floor grate that covered the sump pump was not in a condition that maintained its standard strength and construction and was not secured to prevent displacement. Condition observed on/or about 03/15/13.
