29 CFR 1910.178(a)(4): Modifications and additions which affect capacity and safe operation shall not be performed by the customer or user without manufacturers prior written approval. Capacity, operation, and maintenance instruction plates, tags, or decals shall be changed accordingly. Recycle area- The Nissan Model 35 powered industrial truck was equipped with a bale grabber manufactured by Cascade Corporation rather than Nissan. This modification did not have a prior written approval from the manufacturer.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(i): Working space for equipment likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance while energized shall comply with the following dimensions, except as required or permitted elsewhere in this subpart: Recycle Area- The control panel for the aluminum can compactor working space was reduced to 26 inches rather than the specified minumum distance of 3 feet.
