The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.  Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photograph or video evidence of abatement or other written records.

CLEMENS FOOD GROUP, WHO WAS PREVIOUSLY NAMED HATFIELD QUALITY MEATS , WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD, WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 311272868, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON NOVERMBER 28, 2008, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 4591 COLEBROOK AVE., EMMAUS, PA, 18049.  Abatement Note: One feasible and acceptable method of abatement for guarding the trench auger from the aisleway side where pedestrians or other worker are located would be to install up a guardrail far enough away from the augers that would prevent employees from being able to contact any of the ingoing nip points of the auger blades.  If guardrails need to be right next to the augers trenches due to aisle space limitations, then a barrier type guard may be more suitable.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

Abatement Note: One feasible and acceptable method of abatement for guarding the trench auger from the aisleway side where pedestrians or other worker are located would be to ensure the pull-cord was fully effective per the criteria foun in ANSI B11.19 - 2010.  .
