29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.: Naval Post Graduate School - Halligan Hall Bldg. 234 and Bldg. 214 - On or about April 9, 2013 and at times prior thereto the Bridgeport Mills did not have one or more methods of machine guarding to protect the operator and other employees in the area from the hazards created by rotating parts and flying chips when the mills were in use to shape plastic and metal parts for the following mills: a- Bldg. 214 Golf Course Lab/Machine Shop Bridgeport Mills with SN J146013 and Bridgeport Mill with USN Minor Property number 62271B0676. b- Bldg. 234 Room 102 Machine Shop Bridgeport Mills with SN 2J140206, SN2J101625 and Bridgeport Mill with the side cutting head.

29 CFR 1910.303(e)(1)(ii): Other markings giving voltage, current, wattage, or other ratings as necessary: Naval Post Graduate School - Bldg. 214 - Golf Course Lab/Machine Shop - On or about April 9, 2013 and at times prior thereto, The General Electrical Panel did not indicate the voltage to ensure employees were aware it was 480 volts. Employees believed it was a 240 volt panel until viewing the breaker labels.
