Abatement Note: Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure proper placement of the advance warning sign. This abatement method is depicted in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Millennium Edition in Figure 6H-30, Interior Lane Closure on Multilane Street (TA-30).

This condition exposed employees in the work zone to a struck-by hazard. Employees were directing traffic using hand signals without the aid of paddles and/or flags.  This condition exposed employees in the work zone to a struck-by hazard.    Abatement Note: Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure the correct hand-signaling devices and procedures are used. This abatement method is depicted in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Millennium Edition in Section 6E.03 Hand-Signaling Devices.
