29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: On or about April 12, 2013: (a) Employees performing roofing operations to include removal and replacing roofing materials due to storm damage were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 17 feet while working on a roofing system that had a pitch of 8 in 12, without the use of fall protection measures.
