An employee, who was not wearing a personal fall arrest system while framing a chimney from an unprotected 8 in 12 pitched roof was exposed to fall hazards of 10-feet and 15-feet.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii): a) Roof of residence. An employee, who was not wearing a personal fall arrest system while framing a chimney from an unprotected 8 in 12 pitched roof was exposed to fall hazards of 10-feet and 15-feet. The employer had not provided the exposed employee training which would have enabled the employee to recognize and minimize the fall hazards he was exposed to.
