29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.     The employer does not protect employees from falling when working 6 feet or more above a lower level. This violation was observed on or about April 11, 2013, on the roof of the garage, where an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 6 feet, when performing roofing work without a fall protection system.        Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees engaged in residential construction activities are protected from falling when exposed to falls 6 feet or more above a lower level.
