29 CFR 1910.243(b)(2): Airhose and hose connections used for conducting compressed air to utilization equipment was not designed for the pressure and service to which they were subjected.  At the Death Valley National Park Auto repair shop there was a 95 psi air hose used to air up large truck tires that was dry rotted with visable cracks on hose.

29 CFR 1910.244(a)(2)(vi): Each jack used constantly or intermittently at a single locality was not thoroughly inspected at least once every six months:  a) At the Death Valley National Park Auto repair shop there was a Wheeltronic LLC, model no. EELR343A hydraulic jack lift used to lift vehicles that had not been inspected for more than six months.  b) At the Death Valley National Park Auto repair shop there was eight visable jack stands, and various other wheeled and un-wheeled floor jacks that had not been inspected in more than six months.   c) At the Death Valley National Park Auto repair shop there was an un-inspected jack stand that had been overloaded causing the ratchet to break off and then it was repaired by welding it back on.
