They also were not trained in the applicable OSHA regulations to control or eliminate these hazards.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets:   a) On or about 4/23/13, on two story residential construction site at 163 Richmond Ave., Buffalo, NY: Employee cleaning up debris on the ground was exposed to getting struck in the head by roofing material being torn off and thrown from the roof to the ground approx. 24 ft. below. The employee was in the area between the dumpster and the house and was not wearing a hardhat.   b) On or about 4/23/13, on two story residential construction site at 163 Richmond Ave., Buffalo, NY: The ladder used to access the tearoff portion of the roof was located in the area between the dumpster and the house and five employees using the ladder to access the roof were exposed to getting struck in the head by roofing material being torn off and thrown from the roof.  None of the employees was wearing a hardhat.    NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

The Compressor was connected to 120 volt ac power via an extension cord which was plugged into a receptacle on the porch of the house. No GFCI or assured equipment grounding program was being used.   b) On or about 4/23/13, on two story residential construction site at 163 Richmond Ave., Buffalo, NY: A Ridgid air compressor was used to supply air for power tools. The Compressor was connected to 120 volt ac power via an extension cord which was plugged into a receptacle inside of the house at the back entrance. No GFCI or assured equipment grounding program was being used.    NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
