29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use [ANSIZ358.1-2004]: a. On or about 04/16/13, at the warehouse area, at ABC Janitors of St. Croix, St. Croix, VI. An emergency eye wash station was not provided in the immediate area when corrosive products such as Spartan products: Endura stripper (sodium hydroxide), Clean by Peroxy (hydrogen peroxide), Square One stripper (sodium hydroxide), Shinelin Emulsifier Plus stripper (sodium hydroxide), Metaquat germicidal/cleaner (alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride), 1C-115 non-butyl detergent (potassium hydroxide), H2-D2 cleaner/degreaser (potassium hydroxide) and other products such as Sta Clear (muriatic acid), Buster (sulfuric acid) and pool products: Nuclo granules (trichloroisocyanuric acid), Nuclo 7-day tablets (trichloroisocyanuric acid), More Chlor 65 (calcium hypochlorite) and 7 oz. Alden Leeds slow tabs (trichloroisocyanuric acid) were handled by employees during storage and delivery operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
