29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(ii): In locations where electric equipment is likely to be exposed to physical damage, enclosures or guards were not so arranged and of such strength as to prevent such damage: a.) North Side of the Building: On or about April 24, 2013, and at times prior thereto, the 12,470-Volt electrical transformer adjacent to the parking lot was not provided with bollards to protect from vehicles. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method of providing mechanical protection is to strategically place bollards around the transformer. This practice provides a degree of protection from vehicles in accordance with the National Electrical Code Handbook-2011, Article 450.8(A) Mechanical Protection for Guarding of Transformers. Note: Abatement certification is required for this item
