Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a). Worksite located at 8870 NE 82nd Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri- An employee was exposed to a fall hazard in that the employee was observed working on a roof level more than 6 feet above the lower landing surface and was not protected from falling.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were not used for the purposes for which they were designed (or in the alternative) 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13) The top step of a stepladder shall not be used as a step: (a). Worksite located at 8870 NE 82nd Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri- Employee was exposed to a fall hazard in that the employee was using a step ladder to access the upper roof level in which it was not extended at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface and the employee used the top two steps of the ladder to access the roof.
