29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a) The Buffalo Iron Corp / 4500 Buffalo Road / Erie, PA: On or about April 26, 2013, employees were not tied-off to fall protection anchorage devices while working on a structure and exposed to fall hazards of approximately 22 feet. The employees were performing work activities that included but were not limited to welding, bridging work, and prepping the structure for the installation of decking.
