29 CFR 1910.67(c)(2)(v): A body belt shall be worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. Employee trimming a tree from a truck mounted articulating boom lift was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 25' to ground in that fall protection was not utilized. The hazards were located at job site near 700 Plass in Topeka, KS.

29 CFR 1910.132(a): Application. Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact. Employees performing tree trimming tasks at 700 Plass in Topeka Kansas were exposed to struck by hazards while removing branches from a residential job site. Crew members were not using hard hats during the process.
