(a)    At the paint mix room, on or about 5/03/2013:  The flammable PPG solvent, MS251 was in use to soak parts in open top plastic containers, and was therefore not stored in closed containers.   Abatement certification must be submitted.

29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1):  A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use:      (a) At the facility, on or about 5/03/2013:  The spray paint area workers, required to wear half face negative pressure cartridge respirators were not provided with any written or implemented respiratory protection program, where flammable and toxic paints and coatings were used.   Abatement certification must be submitted.

29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function:      (a) At the facility, on or about 5/03/2013:  One spray paint area worker, using a 3M half face negative pressure cartridge respirator to spray paint with flammable and toxic paints and coatings, had a beard which interfered with the sealing surfaces of the facepiece.    Abatement certification must be submitted.
