29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) South Side of the Site - Engineers and the deck foreman were observed without fall protection discussing and checking deck layout exposing them to a 9 foot 6 inch fall hazard, on or about 05/03/13. b) Center of the Site - Carpenters were observed without fall protection installing deck boards exposing them to a 9 foot 6 inch fall hazard. The Belfast Valley Construction Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 316371137, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 07/05/2012, with respect to a workplace located at 318 I Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002.
