OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and/or struck by hazards. Automotive Repair Shop: Employees were required to use an automobile lift that had a broken safety catch/stop on the right front arm allowing the adjusting leg to come out completely from the support arm exposing them to crushing and/or struck by hazards.
