29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electric equipment shall be free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. A. On or about May 9, 2013, employees of Bayer Crop Science were potentially exposed to electrical hazards in the form of an improperly installed faceplate on an electrical component in the main facility. B. On or about May 9, 2013, employees of Bayer Crop Science were potentially exposed to electrical hazards in the form of a missing knockout on an electrical panel in the main facility. The unused portions of the electrical equipment were not closed in order to protect employees. C. On or about May 9, 2013, employees of Bayer Crop Science were potentially exposed to electrical hazards in the form of a missing knockout on an electrical junction box located in a mobile trailer supplied and maintained by a vendor. The unused portions of the electrical equipment were not closed in order to protect employees.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(i): Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings were not effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment. On or about May 10, 2013 employees of Bayer Crop Science were exposed to electrical hazards due to two instances unused portions of electrical equipment not being closed to protect employees.
