29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.      a) Front of Weis Market, Newport Pennsylvania - Three employees worked to demolish a section of the building in preparation for the renovation of the facade of the grocery store.  The employees were not required to wear their fall protection harnesses and were exposed to a fall of 16 feet from the roof to the concrete sidewalk below, on or about May 22, 2013.        b) Rear of Weis Market, Newport Pennsylvania - An employee dumped roofing debris from a wheel barrow off of the roof into a dumpster at the rear of the building.  The employee was not provided with a fall protection system at the rear of the building and was exposed to a fall of approximately 18 feet 4 inches from the roof to the level below, on or about May 22, 2013.       The ECI Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314245671, citation number2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/31/2011, with respect to a workplace located at Vine and Main Streets, Middletown Pennsylvania.     The ECI Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312500465, citation number1, item number1 and was affirmed as a final order on 3/6/2009, with respect to a workplace located at 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg Pennsylvania.      Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
