29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a- 307 Monmouth Street, Lakewood NJ: On or about 05/10/13, a company employee performing stucco application and other related activities from outside of the elevated scissorlift manbasket was exposed to fall hazards in excess of 25 feet to the ground surface below. On the day of the inspection the exposed employee was not provided with a personal fall arrest system consisting of a full body harness, lanyard and anchorage point as required by the Standard.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): A training program was not provided to each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards, to enable that employee to recognize the hazards of falling, and be trained in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: a- 307 Monmouth Street, Lakewood NJ: On or about 05/10/13, a company employee performing stucco application and other related activities from outside of an elevated manlift basket of a scissorlift was exposed to falls in excess of 25 feet to the ground below when they were not provided with any fall protection. The company employees had not received fall protection training. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
