29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Unless specifically permitted otherwise in paragraph (g)(1)(ii) of this section, flexible cords and cables may not be used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: a. Plant Six, Second Floor - The employer used a flexible extension cord in lieu of fixed wiring. The employer used an extension cord to extend the buildings branch circuit supply to the power-supply cord of a Panasonic Microwave Oven (NN-S6688A). Flexible wiring is more easily damaged, frayed, or cut. Employees were exposed to electric shock. Observed On or About May 16, 2013
