29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Installation and use. Listed or labeled equipment shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling.    On or about May 23, 2013, in the Pool Area, a Dolphin Pool Cleaner, Deluxe 4 Model, 110 Volt AC, used to clean the outdoor pool was connected to an extension cord set and plugged into a 110 Volt AC receptacle outlet, and not a GFI receptacle outlet, in violation of the UL Listing/Labeling for the Dolphin pool cleaner.

29 CFR 1910.332(b)(2): Additional requirements for unqualified persons. Employees who are covered by paragraph (a) of this section but who are not qualified persons shall also be trained in and familiar with any electrically related safety practices not specifically addressed by 1910.331 through 1910.335 but which are necessary for their safety.    The Company had not trained their front desk employee on electrical safety related work practices relating to the inspection of flexible cord sets and the use of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter receptacle outlets when working with portable electric equipment and cord sets around the pool area.

29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) shall be visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket). Cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) which remain connected once they are put in place and are not exposed to damage need not be visually inspected until they are relocated.    On or about May 23, 2013, an extension cord set being used with a Dolphin pool cleaner for cleaning the pool had not been inspected for external defects as noted by the four taped areas of the cord showing insulation damage and a couple cord areas having bare wires exposed.
