OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: a) Waste Reduction Building, 415 Christian Lane, Berlin, CT. - On or about 5-29-13 - employee was exposed to a struck-by hazard from equipment being operated in the area that was not properly maintained in that a Caterpillar 966E Front-end Loader was being operated with broken/cracked windshields that obstructed the operators view and no side/rear view mirrors so that the operator could see the sides/rear of the machine.
