29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a) The employer fell to select and require employees to use the proper hand protection that would prevent cuts and lacerations to the hand and/or fingers while slaughter and cutting meat on the Kill Floor and Processing Floor. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.303(e)(1)(ii): 1910.303(e)(1)(ii): Electric equipment shall not be used unless markings have been placed on equipment such as voltage, current, wattage and other ratings as necessary: a) On or about May 30, 2013, two long gray electrical boxes operating at 240V used for powering the pork grinder and lights were not marked with the voltage, current, or other ratings. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
