29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail and one stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge: location: Building A and B on or about: 5/28/13 a) Employees used the stairwells for access between basement and roof. The stairwells did not have a handrail or a stairrail along the open side of the stairwell. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19. Dorex Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312996556, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 8/27/09, with respect to a workplace located at 430 Bedford Rd. North Castle, NY 10504.
