29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(7)(iv): The employer shall also provide, at no cost to employees who perform housekeeping operations in an area which contains ACM or PACM, an asbestos awareness training course, which shall at a minimum contain the following elements: health effects of asbestos, locations of ACM and PACM in the building/facility, recognition of ACM and PACM damage and deterioration, requirements in this standard relating to housekeeping, and proper response to fiber release episodes, to all employees who perform housekeeping work in areas where ACM and/or PACM is present. Each such employee shall be so trained at least once a year.   a) Silverstone Property Group, 247 East 28 Street, New York NY  On or about 08/07/12,  The porter, superintendent and helper are responsible for performing housekeeping, maintenance, and repairs on and around surfaces including floors, and pipes. The building/facility owner did not provide employees who are potentially exposed with an asbestos awareness training course.  NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.  Silverstone Property Group was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(7)(iv), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 575218, citation number 1, item number 4b and was affirmed as a final order on 01/10/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 247 East 28th street, New York, NY.
