29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: On June 10, 2013, employees were exposed to a fall hazard while using an extension ladder that did not extend three feet past the roof the employees were accessing. Apex Exteriors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314735648, citation number 01, item number 04 and was affirmed as a final order on October 21, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 2408 Ridgeway Ave. Evanston, Illinois 60202. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
