29 CFR 1910.95(k)(1): The employer did not train each employee who is exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.95(k). The employer did not institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program: a.) Diamond Perforated Metals/Perforated Tube Works area - On or about 6/11/13, 'temporary' employees working in this area are exposed to equivalent noise levels of 88.4 dBA as a time-weighted average. The on-iste employer, Diamond Perforated Metals has a full hearing conservation program for permanent employees, including training, however, the temporary employee had not received hearing conservation training, as required. The employer did not train each employee who is exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 dBA in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.95(k). Training shall include: -The effects of noise on hearing; -The purpose of hearing protection, the advantages, disadvantages, and attenuation of various types, and instruction on selection, fitting, use, and care; and, -The purpose of audiometric testing, and an explanation of the test procedures. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
