29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) Edwin Alberto Alvarez, 3241 W. 44th Avenue, Denver, CO. On or about June 11, 2013, the employer had not ensured appropriate fall protection was utilized while employees removed several layers of shingles from the west side of the 6/12 pitch roof. Condition exposed employees to fall hazards of approximately 20 feet.
