29 CFR 1926.152(c)(4)(i): Portable tanks shall not be nearer than 20 feet from any building. Two or more portable tanks, grouped together, having a combined capacity in excess of 2,200 gallons, shall be separated by a 5-foot-clear area. Individual portable tanks exceeding 1,100 gallons shall be separated by a 5-foot-clear area. a. Located at the site where new construction for an office building was being conducted, there were employees working in a job trailer that had a 500 gallon diesel fuel tank located 5 feet from the outside of the job trailer, thereby exposing the employees on the inside of the job trailer to a fire hazard.
