29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): "Roofing work on Low-slope roofs." Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: a) On or about June 11, 2013, at a jobsite located at 1704-06 East End Avenue, Chicago Heights, IL - employees were working on a flat roof performing roofing activities were not protected from falls, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards of approximately eighty (80) feet. The Economy Roofing & Siding, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312598631, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 5th, 2009, with respect to a workplace located at 5817 W. 16th Street, Cicero, IL 60650.
