29 CFR 1910.1030(c)(1)(iv)(B): The employer's exposure control plan did not document annually the consideration and implementation of appropriate commercially available and effective safer medical devices designed to eliminate or minimize occupational exposure: a) Venango County VA Clinic- On or about June 7, 2013, the employer's exposure control plan did not document the annual evaluation of the current devices in use in order to ensure the items remain preferable to any newly developed products. Employees had potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens intermittently throughout each day, when for instance, performing blood draws, giving injections, changing bandages, or cleaning blood and/or other potentially infectious material (OPIM) spills.
