29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: (a) On June 21, 2013 at a job site located at 2944 Troost Kansas City, MO. 64107, employees engaged in commercial roofing activities on a low-sloped roof with unprotected sides and edges were exposed to serious fall hazards, in that the safety monitor for workers did not employ the use of warning line system for the edge of the roof. As a result, employees were exposed to fall hazards up approx. 15 feet above the concrete surface below. No abatement certification needed.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2)(iii): The employer did not assure that each employee had been trained, as necessary, by a competent person qualified in the following areas: The use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems, controlled access zones, and other protection to be use: (a) On June 21, 2013 at a job site located at 2944 Troost Kansas City, MO., employees engaged in commercial roofing activities on a low-sloped roof with unprotected sides and edges were exposed to serious fall hazards, in that they had not been trained in the use and operation of required Fall Protection Systems. As result, employees were exposed to fall hazards up approx. 15 feet above the concrete surface below. No abatement certification needed.
