OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish the employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees who were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards:     a)On or about 6/16/13, at 74 Woodland Drive, Princeton, NJ, employees of Greenway Landscaping were conducting trimming operations of a large tree adjacent to a home where the Arborist performing rigging operations had not been educated to understand and trained to estimate the potential forces at any point in the rigging system being used in accordance with ANSI Z133-2012, Section 8.4.3.  Careful consideration was not given to the potential for additional forces resulting from the specific influences of rigging design, rope angles, and the number of lines and/or line parts that will act on any rigging or anchor point in accordance with ANSI Z133-2012, Section 8.4.4 and rigging methods must involved  wrapping ropes around the arms and/or body of any employee.    NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
