29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:    a)      On June 24, 2013, employees were exposed to an electrical hazard in the form of strain relief in a flexible cord on fluorescent light ballast. The cord for the light is found on the wall in the detail shop between the wash bay and the main detail area. The insulation on the flexible cord is pulled away from the plug.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws:   a)      On June 24, 2013, employees were exposed to an electrical hazard in the form of strain relief in a flexible cord on fluorescent light ballast. 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:   a)      On June 24, 2013, the employer failed to maintain, implement, and develop a written hazard communication program.  Employee was exposed to eye, skin contact, and respiratory tract chemical hazards with chemicals used in auto body shop, paint shop, and car detail shop. Example of chemical used include:  solvents, cleaners, lubricants, and paints.       ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical:   a)      On June 24, 2013, employees were exposed to chemicals in containers not appropriately labeled. Portable containers must be labeled or the contents of the container must be fully used/emptied by the employee who performed the transfer. Chemicals used in spray bottles in the car detailing shop were not labeled.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.

29 CFR 1910.141(b)(1)(iii): Portable drinking water dispensers were not designed, constructed, and serviced so that sanitary conditions are maintained, were not capable of being closed, and wre not equipped with a tap:  a) On June 24, 2013, employees were exposed to a potable drinking water dispenser that was not properly cleaned. The dispenser is in an area of the shop that chemicals are used to repair vehicles. Potable water dispensers are to be located in an area not subject to possible contamination.
