29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): Guard for abrasive wheel machine where the operator stands in front of the machine was not constructed so that the peripheral protecting member could be adjusted to the constantly decreasing diameter of the wheel: Grinding area: Employees were exposed to laceration hazards while operating the Baldor pedestal grinders S22 and S23 which were not equipped with adjustable tongue guards. The distance between the top of the safety guard and the abrasive wheel for grinder S22 was approximately 2-inches on the right wheel and 1 1/8-inches on the left wheel. The distance between the top of the safety guard and the abrasive wheel for grinder S23 was approximately 1 1/4-inches on the right wheel and 1/2-inches on the left wheel.
