OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:    (a) 10 Faraday St Worcester, MA: On or about June 18, 2013, an employee was observed working from a scissor lift more than 10 FT above the ground below while standing on the mid rail of the lift with half his body outside the lift platform, which among other hazards, moves the center of gravity of the lift which increases the likelihood that it will tip causing crushing injuries to the employee working from the lift, as well as exposing workers in the area to that same crushing injury; among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct these hazards are to use a safe alternate method, such as, but not limited to Complying with the American National Standards Institute(ANSI) A92.6-2006 for Self Propelled Elevating Work Platforms which states: "Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. Climbing by occupants on the mid rail or top rail of the aerial platform is prohibited."
