29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means.  a- 680 Route 35 South/Main Avenue, Bayhead NJ:  A company employee, performing roofing and other related activities,  was exposed to electrocution hazards when working less than three feet from a live power line. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m)  or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b), nor did the employer demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems and develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of section 1926.502:   a- 680 Route 35 South/Main Avenue, Bayhead NJ: Employees were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 22 feet 5 inches to the ground below, when they were not supplied with any fall protection when performing roofing and other related activities from a pitched roof. 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were used for purposes other than the purposes for which they were designed:  a- 680 Route 35 South/Main Avenue, Bayhead NJ: Employees were using a closed A-framed ladder, resting against a pitched roof, to access another level of the struture's roof.  This ladder in question is designed to be used in the fully open position with the legs locked open.  As such, the employees were exposed to fall hazard in excess of 22 feet 5 inches to the ground surface below.  Condition observed on or about 06/05/13.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADsDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
