On or about 6/27/13. b) Flammable wash booth - When dispensing EXXSOL D60 Fluid, a class III combustible solvent (dearomatized hydrocarbons) from a 55 gallon drum into a five gallon bucket for use, the two containers were not electrically connected (bonded). 29 CFR 1910.107(e)(2): The quantity of flammable or combustible liquids kept in the vicinity of spraying operations were not at a minimum required for operations or they exceeded a supply for one day or one shift: a) Flammable wash booth - Combustible chemicals such as, but not limited to a 55 gallon drum and a five gallon bucket containing EXXSOL D60 Fluid, a class III combustible solvent (dearomatized hydrocarbons) were stored and used in the booth. Both exceeded the amount used in one day. On or about 6/27/13. b) Flammable paint booth - Chemical including, but not limited to 6 five gallon containers of acetone (flammable class 1B), two partially full containers of acetone connected to a parts washer, and several one gallon containers of other flammable chemicals such as thinners (flammable class 1B) were stored and used in the booth. Each of these exceeded the amount used in one day. On or about 6/27/13. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. On or about 6/27/13. b) Flammable paint spray booth - Overspray residue from class 1B ad 1C flammable paints such as, but not limited to PPG Industries Safety Orange 2.08 VOC Ultra (heptan-2-one), PPG Industries Multiprime EFD Inhibitive Primer (xylene, toluene, ethylbenzene), and PPG Industries97-725 (xylene, toluene, 2-(propyloxy)ethanol) was allowed to accumulate on the walls of the booth and on other objects stored in the booth.
