29 CFR 1910.106(d)(4)(iii): Wiring. Electrical wiring and equipment located in inside storage rooms used for Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 °F (37.8 °C), shall be approved under subpart S of this part for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations; for Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint at or above 100 °F (37.8 °C) and Category 4 flammable liquids, shall be approved for general use.     Employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards in that electrical wiring located in the paint storage room was not rated class 1 division 2 for hazardous locations.  Category 2 flammable paint and paint products were stored and mixed in the room.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by this standard, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more shall be guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures:     Employees working in the paint shop were exposed to electrical shock hazards in that the dual light switch was missing one of the switches thereby exposing the wiring.

29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): General. The employer shall provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee is fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace. The employer may discontinue an employee's medical evaluations when the employee is no longer required to use a respirator.     Employees were exposed to respiratory hazards in that they were not medically evaluated before using the 3M tight-fitting respirators.  Employees working in the paint and body shops wore respirators while performing sanding and grinding activities.

29 CFR 1910.134(f)(2): The employer shall ensure that an employee using a tight-fitting facepiece respirator is fit tested prior to initial use of the respirator, whenever a different respirator facepiece (size, style, model or make) is used, and at least annually thereafter.     Employees were exposed to inhalation hazards, including isocyanates, in that they were not fit tested before using the 3M tight-fitting respirators.
