OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment in a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:     a) On or about July 9, 2013, and at times prior, employees were potentially exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards while   working around twenty Rotary 2-post auto lifts, a challenge 2-post auto lift and the three Rotary 4-post auto lifts, in that the lifts were not periodically inspected by qualified inspectors at least annually to ensure that they were properly maintained and functional.       Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet")     Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to implement the requirements of    the most recent version of ANSI/ALI ALOIM American National Standard for Automotive Lift Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection, and Maintenance as well as the guidelines found in Lifting It Right, a safety manual from the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI).  These documents includes among other requirements the following:   1. Insititue a preventive maintenance program according to the manufactures' specifications.   2. Schedule and complete all periodic and annual inspections.   3. Ensure operators are instructed in the safe use and operations of the lift using the manufacturer-provided Operation & Maintenance Manuals.     Spradley Ford was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 903876, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on June 20, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 2828 Highway 50, Pueblo, CO 81008.

Employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals, including Naptha in Car Brite Purple Dressing-High Glo and  Diprophlene glycol methyl ether contained in Advanage 20X Degreaser and in Car Brite Carpet & Upholster Cleaner XD along with glycerin in Car Brite Carolina Hi-Gloss Dressing.
