29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. a. On July 11, 2013, an employee was using a chop saw to cut trim without the protection of safety glasses to protect his eyes from irritants and flying debris. b. On or about July 12, 2013, employees working on the roof installing trim were using a pneumatic nail gun without eye protection, thereby being exposed to a struck by physical object hazard.

On July 11, 2013, employees working on the roof of a commercial building without fall protection were exposed to falling onto exposed rebar that was stuck into the ground.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On July 11, 2013, two employees were working on the roof of a commercial building without fall protection. The employees were exposed to a fall hazard of 10 feet. R.B. Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (name previously cited standard), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312725179, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 05/12/2009, with respect to a workplace located at 600 North Villa Avenue, Villa Park, IL 60181.
